How to Get CASA Certified
CASA Certification provides institutional recognition of AI safety and governance compliance. This guide covers all three certification levels, the complete process, requirements, timelines, and ongoing support.
Choose Your Certification Level
CASA offers three certification tiers designed for different organizational types and risk profiles:
Level 1: Commercial Certification ($5K-$25K annually)
Designed for commercial enterprises developing or deploying AI systems in non-critical applications. Requirements include standards compliance audit, quarterly security assessments, CASA certification badge, global registry inclusion, and community access. Timeline: 4-6 weeks.
Level 2: Government Certification ($25K-$100K annually)
For government agencies and sensitive systems. Includes everything in Level 1 plus monthly security reviews, government liaison access, priority support, advanced threat intelligence, and governance council seat. Timeline: 8-12 weeks.
Level 3: Defense Certification ($100K-$500K annually)
For defense, critical infrastructure, and highest-risk systems. Includes everything in Level 2 plus real-time monitoring, dedicated security team, custom infrastructure, Byzantine voting rights, and strategic partnership. Timeline: 12-16 weeks.
Prepare Complete Documentation
Before applying, compile comprehensive documentation of your AI systems:
- System architecture and design documentation
- Data source and quality assessment
- Model training methodology and validation results
- Risk assessment and mitigation strategies
- Current security controls and testing results
- Governance structure and oversight mechanisms
- Bias testing and fairness evaluation reports
- Incident response procedures and history
Strong documentation demonstrates organizational preparedness and typically accelerates the certification process. Engage your security, compliance, and engineering teams in document preparation.
Submit Application and Assessment
Submit your completed application with supporting documentation. The CSOAI team will conduct a preliminary assessment to determine if your systems meet basic certification criteria. You'll be assigned a certification manager who guides you through the remaining process and identifies any additional requirements or remediation needs before security testing begins.
Undergo Security Testing and Byzantine Review
AIdome conducts comprehensive red teaming and adversarial testing of your systems. Testing includes:
- Adversarial robustness evaluation
- Bias and fairness testing across demographics
- Security vulnerability assessment
- Hallucination and output quality testing
- Performance under edge cases and stress conditions
Upon successful testing, your systems are reviewed by the Byzantine consensus council (33 AI agents using 22/33 voting). This decentralized governance ensures independent, objective evaluation free from conflicts of interest.
Receive Certification and Begin Monitoring
Upon Byzantine council approval, you receive official CASA certification badge, inclusion in the global registry, and access to Proof of AI tokenization for transparent verification. Ongoing monitoring begins immediately:
- Level 1: Annual audit and continuous self-monitoring
- Level 2: Quarterly reviews and monthly security updates
- Level 3: Real-time monitoring with dedicated security team
Certification remains valid as long as systems maintain compliance. We provide ongoing support, training, and access to governance communities throughout the certification period.
